Guest Wi-Fi that does not share a VLAN with reservations

Hotels, lodges and restaurants: guest networks, staff systems, VoIP, cameras and a second internet path — especially outside metro fibre.

Business problem

Guests will blame “the Wi-Fi” for everything. If that SSID shares a path with reservations, POS or CCTV, a busy weekend becomes an operations incident, not a TripAdvisor comment.

IT solution

Guest Wi-Fi sized for occupancy and isolated from staff networks, VoIP for reception and back-of-house, CCTV networking on its own segment, internet failover, remote support for properties that are not next door to an engineer, and multi-site support where a group has more than one property.

Business outcome

Guests stay online. Staff systems stay off the guest SSID. A fibre cut does not take the property fully offline where a second path exists. Limpopo lodges are a normal pattern for the Limpopo office; city properties dispatch from Sandton.
