Project overview

A premises needed a live viewing wall the duty staff could actually read — not a laptop under a counter. The photographs show a wall-mounted multi-camera mosaic and a desk monitor on a recorder cabinet.

Challenge

Cameras that only record to an SD card help after an incident. They do not help the person who is supposed to see the floor now. A phone app is not a control room.

Environment

South African commercial premises. Client name withheld. The live mosaic in the photograph is the estate that was commissioned — we will not count tiles and publish that number as a sold camera count.

Solution

We commissioned the recorder, dressed the viewing display, and placed the live grid where staff stand. Camera networking stays on its own path so a recording storm does not take tills offline.

Technologies

Premises CCTV recorders and viewing displays (Hikvision and Dahua hardware appear in the photographs). Naming the brand describes what was commissioned — not an official partnership. Cabling and switching sit with network infrastructure.

Implementation

Mount the display, terminate the recorder, confirm every camera in the grid, then hand over the live view — not a promise that “the app will work later”.

Outcome

A viewing wall is live on the wall and on the recorder cabinet. We do not publish retention days, camera counts, or a security-outcome claim from these screens.
