Project overview

Last-mile and building-to-building wireless lives on the roof, not in a drawing. These photographs show a sector and microwave on a commercial roof, a yagi mast, a building P2P pole and a mesh dish.

Challenge

Two buildings, a parkade, or a site the fibre lead-in cannot reach still need a path. Running copper across a public road is not a plan. Hoping LTE will carry CCTV and tills at the same time is also not a plan.

Environment

South African commercial roofs and building walls. Client names withheld. The photos are urban and peri-urban rooftops — masts, sectors, dishes — not a stock skyline.

Solution

We survey line of sight, mount masts that the roof can actually take, and align point-to-point or sector radios so the link is a designed path, not an extra SSID.

Rooftop masts, sector antennas, yagis, point-to-point dishes and outdoor radios. Exact hardware is specified per path. See network infrastructure.

Implementation

Mounts, cable glands and weather-sealed runs come before the radio is powered. Alignment is done on the roof with the far end live, then the indoor cabinet is patched.

Outcome

Radios are on the roof and cabled indoors. We do not publish throughput, fade margins, or a named far-end site from these photographs.
