Project overview

An office still running a legacy PABX needed modern calling without a messy weekend of dead reception lines.

Challenge

An office still running a legacy PABX needed modern calling without a messy weekend of dead reception lines.

Environment

A 15-extension office in South Africa. Organisation name withheld. Handsets and numbering plan had grown around the old PBX.

Solution

We migrated the extensions to cloud VoIP, kept the customer-facing numbers, and trained reception on the new call flows before go-live.

Technologies

Hosted PABX / cloud VoIP, configured handsets, and a network check so voice and guest Wi-Fi did not share a congested domestic router. See VoIP & PABX.

Implementation

Number porting and parallel running were used so the old system could be the fallback until the new one was confirmed.

Outcome

Extensions were migrated to cloud VoIP with numbers retained. We do not publish a savings percentage until it is verified.

Services involved

Client identity is withheld unless they have agreed to be named. Unverified percentages, device counts and uptime figures are not published. Photographs show the work; they are not a coverage map or a performance guarantee.
